Katie's
Hallmark started in the 1950's in Katie's parents' flower shop. Don & Kit
Desch first added rows of Hallmark cards in their flower and gift shop,
then later began opening Hallmark card shops in western Ohio.
Katie grew up working in her parents' shops. In 1990, she and
her husband, David, purchased two stores, opened their
third in 1995 and purchased their fourth in 1997,
all in the Dayton, Ohio area. Today, you will find Katie
and David actively involved in the daily operation of
the offices and distribution center
at Katie's Hallmark's world headquarters in Dayton.
Our business philosophy is centered on providing outstanding
customer service. This is the focal point of our
training for new associates and is reiterated in the ongoing
training of experienced associates. In addition, we are committed to
providing our customers only high quality products in a wide
range of prices for all gift-giving occasions.
Hallmark Cards has recognized our efforts by selecting Katie's Hallmark
as one of the Top 200 Hallmark Independent
Retailers in each of the last two years.
Katie's has also been appointed to the Hallmark National Gold Crown Retail
Advisory Board, selected as a board member of the annual
Hallmark National Multi-Cultural Marketing Symposium, and
assigned to the Hallmark National Gold Crown Retail
Excellence Standards task force.
We are proud of what we have accomplished and are
